THRUST 3: ACHIEVING DYNAMIC INTERVENTIONS
Goal: Achieve adaptive control of synthetic outcomes and access new states of matter by integrating data science, in situ characterization, and simulations.
Challenge: Design and parameter space is too large to predict what sequence and parameter set will give rise to a target hierarchical structure a priori.
Approach: Combine unique strengths in: in situ high-resolution, high-speed microscopy; data science; and macromolecular simulation and design. Draw on crosscutting synthetic expertise to create materials platforms.
Outcome: Answer the fundamental questions of Thrusts 1 and 2 while achieving adaptive control of synthetic processes with real-time intervention.
